ROLE SUMMARY:
This position is for a highly technical, data-driven digital marketer who specializes in CRM, marketing automation, customer journeys, and measurable growth strategies for financial institutions.
To be clear, this isn’t social media marketing. It’s infrastructure-level growth marketing for banks and credit unions. Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot or similar marketing automation platforms is required.
This person is a hybrid strategist–practitioner who operates at the intersection of data, marketing technology, and customer experience. This role is responsible for activating and optimizing marketing technology platforms to help our bank and credit union clients improve customer engagement, campaign performance, and data-driven decision-making.
Success in this role requires deep experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or HubSpot Marketing Hub, the ability to interpret complex datasets, and the skills to translate insights into automated, scalable marketing programs. This role also supports the evolution of our digital and data-driven service offerings and helps drive adoption and confidence in modern marketing tools.
This position reports to the Director of Digital Services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Analysis & Insights
- Analyze data from digital platforms, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools to identify trends, patterns, and growth opportunities.
- Support the development of measurement frameworks aligned with client business goals and marketing objectives.
- Assist with attribution analysis and customer journey insights to better understand channel and lifecycle performance.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer business and campaign performance questions.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both internal teams and client stakeholders.
Campaign Management & Marketing Activation
- Lead the creation, execution, and optimization of omni-channel marketing campaigns, including email, content, and lifecycle programs.
- Ensure campaigns are data-driven, leveraging segmentation, personalization, and automation to drive engagement and conversions.
- Utilize marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, etc.) to streamline and scale campaign execution.
- Design and build decision trees, workflows, automation programs, and customer journeys aligned with client growth strategies.
- Monitor and report on key KPIs, including conversion rates, ROAS, Cost Per Account, and Lifetime Value.
- Support A/B testing and experimentation efforts by analyzing results and documenting learnings.
- Help ensure accurate tracking and measurement by implementing tag management systems and analytics solutions.
- Analyze website and digital performance metrics, including traffic, engagement, conversion funnels, and user behavior.
MarTech Activation & Customer Journey Development
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the activation and optimization of marketing technology platforms following implementation.
- Design and document marketing use cases, lifecycle journeys, segmentation strategies, and personalization frameworks.
- Partner with internal and client teams to connect first- and third-party data sources to improve targeting and performance.
- Support ongoing platform adoption and maturity through continuous optimization and strategic recommendations.
- Assist clients in developing their marketing capabilities as their comfort with new technologies grows.
Product Management & Support
- Lead internal and client training sessions to drive confidence and adoption of marketing technology and data-driven strategies.
- Support the development of educational materials, best practices, and playbooks to support long-term platform success.
- Support change management efforts as clients evolve their marketing and data maturity.
- Provide insights and feedback related to platform capabilities, integrations, and emerging solutions.
Digital Marketing Execution
- Build and manage email templates, automated campaigns, and lifecycle communications.
- Create and update landing pages and digital experiences.
- Prepare recurring performance reports and conduct marketing research.
- Support website projects and digital initiatives from a marketing and user experience perspective.
- Serve as a client-facing subject matter expert and trusted advisor during technical and strategic discussions.
Other Duties:
- Work closely with internal teams, including Strategy, Digital Media, Creative, and Account Services.
- Support ongoing efforts to improve campaign performance and digital customer experiences.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior digital and other marketing team members.
- Support client meetings and presentations, both virtual and on-site, as needed.
- Assist in evaluating and maintaining relationships with digital and marketing technology partners.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Proven experience in digital marketing with a strong focus on data, automation, and performance.
- Advanced, hands-on expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or HubSpot Marketing Hub is required, including campaign execution, automation, and audience management.
- Marketing automation platform certifications (e.g., SFMC Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Administrator, HubSpot Marketing Hub) strongly preferred; equivalent advanced platform proficiency required.
- Experience designing customer journeys, segmentation strategies, and lifecycle marketing programs.
- Familiarity with first- and third-party data strategies and audience targeting.
- Experience with tag management systems, such as Google Tag Manager, and analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics.
- Experience implementing or working with DKIM, DMARC, DNS, and subdomain records.
- Familiarity with CMS and landing page development tools.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
- Experience working in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing trends, privacy regulations, and measurement best practices.
